Ardecore‘s
996 is an exploration of roman folk through a concept-album about Giuseppe Gioachino Belli’s gritty, desperate and sarcastic roman poetry from the 19th century, put in music in their signature contemporary folk-rock way.
The record comes along with an illustrated songbook, for which I provided six illustrations for some songs/sonnets, together along with Scarful and Claudio Elias Scialabba
I tried to convey a traditional, 19th century book illustration feeling, with a contemporary touch as for the band’s musical approach.
